Well after a year and a bunch of fussing I got my camera back from my daughter. So here is the new back on the thinline SJ and a couple other pics. with the first seal coat of shellac. Notice I narrowed up the center wedge and use one piece instead of bookmatching two pieces. now the bottom of the wedge is the same width as the corresponding end of the end graft wedge

Lookin' good! You know, the bookmatched maple was nice, but now it looks like two lava flows bordering the mouth of the volcano! Smokin'!!!

Hesh I was worried at first having a dark to on a med dark B/S set but the combo is great togather.

Wow stunning - anybody have an idea what that combo will sound like? I guess its hard to predict in a slimline huh? I wondered about the Cedar and Rewood tops - I never really considered them B4, but I see them in use so much these days - Its really got me curious as to how they sound, ???? Soundclips anyone?
{although everytime someone asks what something sounds like, theres always the inevitable standby reply -Mahogany }

Warmer than spruce more blended sound than spruce Cedar and redwood are favorites of finger style player for their complexity..
